I SAW THE VERY FIRST COPIES OF MY BOOK SERIES!
For those of you that may not know, I’ve been writing my little tail off to complete the first two books of my first home improvement book series. That’s right, series! One on bathrooms, one on kitchens. There was hair pulling, blood, sweat, tears, a few emptied bottles of scotch…but I finally got them done.
Last week, at the KC Remodeling Show, I saw the very first copies—my publisher had them sent straight from the printer for media promotion. I don’t think it was a good idea for me to see them right before I went on camera for a local news spot. As soon as I saw them I started to cry! I couldn’t help it. They’re so beautiful—my little babies—to finally see them, touch them, come to life—I was blown away!

I remember that feeling of OMG when I saw the first book I wrote a few years back. This time around it’s even more overwhelming because there are 2 of them AND they’re in FULL COLOR—FULLY PHOTOGRAPHED AND ILLUSTRATED. Plus, I shot a DVD to accompany some of the projects that is included in the books. They just look so damned big-time, I can hardly believe they’re mine.

I can’t wait for them to hit the shelves! In the meantime, high fives all around, back pats, butt smacks, hugs with tears, a round of shots on the house–I’ve got some serious celebrating to do!
